Virat Kohli, who withdrew from the first two Test matches against England due to injuries, has been replaced by Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patidar in the Indian Test team. Patidar is traveling to Hyderabad later on Wednesday from Ahmedabad, where India A is facing the England Lions.
As Virat kohli is not available due to injury. India had no reserve specialist batters in the Test squad, apart from KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel. Rahul Dravid guaranteed one of them will play as specialist wicketkeeper in Indi test team.
India’s Test squad against England includes Rohit Sharma, Rajat Patidar, and Rinku Singh. Rohit having experience in international cricket will lead the test squad.
Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar had made his ODI debut against South Africa in December. He scored 151 off 158 balls in the first four-day match against England Lions that included three internationals. The 30-year-old has impressive stats: 4000 runs at 45.97, including 12 hundreds, in first-class cricket. He is still an untested player.
Rinku Singh is also the part of team. Rinku Singh being a experienced batter, played 43 first-class matches so far and scoring 3099 runs at an average of 58.47. He was recently included in India A squad for the second four-day match against England Lions.
