Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL):
A joint venture between the Gautam Adani’s Adani Group and the Government of Maharashtra, announced on January 15 that eligible homebuyers in Dharavi will get flats with independent kitchens and toilets measuring a minimum of 350 sq ft, which a staggering 17 percent more and the highest among slum redevelopment projects in Mumbai.
All Dharavikars will have their ideal houses in the new apartments. Each apartment will be secure, well-ventilated, well-lit, and hygienic, with an integrated independent toilet and separate kitchen. This will also improve their quality of life. Every house will be a reflection of the Dharavikar spirit, whose goals have always been similar to those of the average Mumbaikar. A Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL) representative stated, “We at DRPPL are dedicated to realizing these goals and aspirations while preserving Dharavi’s unique identity. Homebuyers who were established before to January 1, 2000, are eligible. The proposed affordable rental housing strategy in Dharavi would provide houses to eligible purchasers in accordance with the guidelines established by the Maharashtra government. Given the high demand for housing, the officials stated that development akin to Dharavi would be implemented in the various Navi Dharavis under planning.
